We designed and developed Tripixy, a social app that allows travellers to share photos from their past trips and connect with the people they met along the way
We were asked to create a social community focused on connections people make and the vast amount of photos they take during their travels. The three key focus areas in developing the strategy for the website were to let users of Tripixy relive their trips through the lenses of others, reconnect with people they met along the way and plan their next travel destinations socially.
We worked closely with our client to establish the scope of the project and detail key functional requirements. We outlined features, worked through user flow diagrams and researched ways of organizing and processing large volumes of media in providing visitors with a heightened user experience.
Sketching, wireframing and rapid prototyping allowed us to work out which interactions worked best in favour of a positive user experience. We iterated frequently as we worked towards establishing a final set of wireframes based on the scope, functional requirements and our client’s feedback. Rapid prototyping and iterating frequently turned out to be an essential part of the process allowing us to test flows and interactions before jumping into visual design.
We wanted the design language to complement all the beautiful photos travellers took on their trips, while not overwhelming the interface or the user. We designed visual concepts that focused on content and usability to provide users with an aesthetically pleasing and fulfilling experience.
